Obituary of Elijah Dane Hoffman

Corporal Elijah Dane McConnell (Hoffmann)

On the evening of September 23, 2022 Elijah Dane McConnell (Hoffmann) Cprl USMC, 37 years old passed away from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident. Elijah was the third youngest son of Helen McConnell’s 8 children. He was a son, a brother, a Marine and most importantly a father.  Elijah leaves behind his 5 month old son, Sebastian Dane Hoffmann Rivera with long time girlfriend Yenitza Rivera. He was so proud of his son. Sharing videos and photographs with anyone who would take the time to learn about his most precious gift to the world. The love that Elijah gave to his family and those lucky few who became part of his inner circle was profound. 

If you were to ask his siblings about him They would tell you about how proud they were to call him one of their own. They would tell you that he was a very intimidating man to most but to his family he was a loving teddy bear. He gave the best hugs. He was humble about his service and never boasted about his accomplishments. Elijah received awards and medals of honor for his services during his time in Afghanistan but never informed his family about them. He was pre-deceased by his mother Helen McConnell. He left behind seven siblings; sister’s Aja Montague and partner Michael Montague, Tara Leaming and husband Joseph Leaming, Jessica Deal, Mariah McConnell and partner Josh Hartshorn. Brothers George McConnell and girlfriend, Meghan Warriner, Pauly Hoffmann and Tiarnan McConnell-Hopkins.

He leaves behind 6 nieces and nephews, Norah Montague, Kiera Ferguson, Kirstin Leaming, Aydean Leaming, Lyric Gibson, Rome Burroughs and Easton Hartshorn. He also leaves behind a great-nephew, Noah Guy Leaming Ferris.
